Last week I made some corduroy overalls for Eddie using some left over Kaufmann 21 Wale cord I had laying around. Needless to say, I am now obsessed with them and thinking about all the different colours and styles of overalls I can make for him. The obsession started a few weeks ago when I had finally saved up enough to buy him a pair of striped overalls from Oshkosh I had been wanting to get since before he was born. They are such a great fit and he loved them so much I thought Id try to make some. I searched around and found this pattern on Etsy from Puperita which was perfect for what I wanted. I made up a size 3 and though they are a tiny bit big in the waist they fitted well everywhere else. I used Overall clips instead of snap clips on the straps so I needed to lengthen the straps by about 2 inches so I could feed them through the clips. Id like to make some royal blue cord ones next but as shorts instead of full length pants.
I still had a little bit of the cord fabric left so I made a little case for my Kindle. I used some a Liberty print for the top, cord for the bottom and lining. I also added 2 layers of quilt batting for a bit of protection. I am pleased with how it turned out even though its a little bulky around the zip because of the batting. I used this tutorial from The Purl Bee
Over the weekend I went away with some lovely ladies to the King Valley and was introduced to baked eggs. I had never had them before and they were delicious! Ive made them pretty much for every meal since I got home (Im going to turn into a baked egg soon). All you do is pop some spinach in the bottom of a ramekin, add your eggs and fetta and cook on about 170 for 20 minutes or until your eggs are just set. I brought these ramekins from the op shop ages ago and have never used them. Im pretty excited to finally find a use for them!
